Our Review

The Philips PET7402D/05 Dual 7’’ portable DVD player offers extremely high-quality picture in a 16:9 wide screen format. The two TFT displays are easily attached to your car front seats headrests, and the cabling is also brought to a minimum – something that similar products tend to easily overlook. The Philips PET7402D/05 player comes with an AC adapter and car adaptor, which allows you to plug it in your car light holder. The picture is brilliant, as you would expect from a brand-name product, and the 16:9 wide screen format ensures that there is no scaling, which can cause loss of quality.

The Philips PET7402D/05 is also capable of playing an extremely wide range of multimedia formats like DVD, DVD R, DVD RW, CD, CD RW, VCD and others. It can also playback DivX files, which format allows you to compress large video files on your computer and save them to a CD or DVD. If you want to view your latest photos, while on the road, the DVD player is capable of doing that as well – it supports JPEG image files, and also easily plays MP3 and normal audio CDs.

The Philips PET7402D/05 has built-in stereo speakers, which produce quality sound; headphone socket allows you to plug-in headphones and listen to the sound, without disturbing the driver and the other passengers. The player supports all the operations and functions that you might expect from a similar device – it allows you to play, fastback, fast-forward, repeat, and shuffle; multi-angle selection, language, and sub-titles are also supported.

The box contains the Philips PET7402D/05 player, second 7’’ screen, AC/DC adaptor, AV cable, power cord, car plug adaptor, and a manual.

Cons

The DVD player cannot be powered by batteries and also doesn’t have a remote control; the headphones are also not included in the box.
